Venue & Travel
Venue
The conference will be hosted by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, in its building at Malostranské náměstí 25, Prague 1 – right on the main square of the historic Malá Strana district, below Prague Castle and a few minutes' walk from Charles Bridge.
The building was erected in the 17th century by the Jesuit order as their Professed House and was designed by Italian architects; the Baroque Church of St. Nicholas was built next to it later by the Dientzenhofer family. After the dissolution of the Jesuit order it served, among other purposes, as a courthouse, and since the early 1960s it has been home to the computer science section of the faculty. Charles University, founded in 1348, is the oldest university in Central Europe.
