Information for Authors
The 18th International Conference on Robotics in Education (RiE 2027) is aimed at the presentation and discussion of the latest results and methods in the fields of research and development in educational robotics. Submissions must be original and must not have been published previously. The official language of the conference is English.
Download the Call for Papers (PDF). The paper submission deadline is 31 January 2027; see all important dates in the side panel.
Submission types
Regular papers
Original research or review papers with new and previously unpublished results. The manuscript must not exceed 12 pages. Based on the reviewers' opinion, a regular paper might be recommended for poster presentation instead of oral presentation.
Short papers and posters
We welcome short papers (6 pages) reporting good practices and successful experiences from educational robotics projects in the form of "short paper plus poster". Short papers are included in the proceedings (same format as regular papers); the posters are presented at the conference during a poster session. If available, please add the poster as an additional page to the PDF of your paper (it is not part of the page count). Recommended poster size is A0 or A1.
Messages
We recognize the need for short messages about ongoing projects, e.g. to find partners, to report intermediate project results, or to discuss interesting findings with others. Although these papers are usually not suitable for publication in the proceedings, they can be presented either orally or as a poster. Based on the reviewers' opinion, some regular papers might also be recommended for a message type presentation. Messages are available only in electronic form in the pre-proceedings and are not published in the final Springer proceedings.
The length of presentations for all types will be announced. There is no specific template for the presentation.
Preparing your paper
All submissions have to be written in accordance with the Springer paper requirements. It is a condition of publication that all papers are written in clear and grammatically correct English. Each paper should include: title, abstract, keywords, names of the authors, affiliations and e-mail addresses.
Please use the templates provided by Springer:
- Proceedings LaTeX2e package
- Proceedings Word templates
- More information on the Springer webpage for conference proceedings
Use of AI tools and research integrity: authors are responsible for the whole content of their paper. AI tools cannot be listed as authors; any use of AI beyond language editing has to be declared in the paper, and all references must be checked by the authors. Please follow the Springer Nature publishing policies. Plagiarism and duplicate submissions lead to rejection.
Submission
Papers are submitted in PDF format through the EasyChair system: the link will be published soon. Only complete papers are reviewed – abstract-only submissions are not accepted.
Review process
Each submission is reviewed by at least two members of the Programme Committee. The review is single-blind: the names of the authors are visible to the reviewers, so please do not anonymize your paper.
The main task of the reviewers is to decide whether the paper is accepted for the conference. Reviewers often give helpful comments, but they are not obliged to provide a detailed list of all shortcomings, especially for papers that do not meet the basic quality requirements. Authors will be informed about the decision by e-mail.
After acceptance
Corresponding authors of accepted papers upload the camera-ready version of their paper and the copyright form through EasyChair. For each accepted paper, at least one of the authors has to register, pay the conference fee and present the paper in person at the conference. Papers that are not presented at the conference (orally or as a poster) will be excluded from the proceedings. Remote or hybrid presentations are not possible.
Proceedings and reference
Accepted regular and short papers will be published after the conference by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series; participants receive the electronic pre-proceedings at the conference. Until the book is published, the following reference can be used: 18th International Conference on Robotics in Education (RiE 2027), Prague, Czech Republic, May 2027.
