How to get to the Location Koblenz?

by car

From the North and East: Take the A3 to the Dernbacher Dreieck. Then join the A48 towards Koblenz. At the exit for Koblenz join the B9 in the direction of Koblenz. After about 4 km, take the exit Metternich, B 258. Continue in the direction of Metternich for a further 3 km. Then join the B 416 towards Güls. After a further 0.5 km, take the exit Metternich West, UNI and follow the signs. From the South and West: On the A61, take the exit Koblenz-Metternich. Turn left onto the highway towards Koblenz. After about 5 km, turn right on the B 258. About 1.5 km, join the B 416 towards Güls. After another 0.5 km, take the exit Metternich West, UNI and follow the signs. Frankfurt Airport: (distance: approximately 115 km) Terminal 1 is connected to a regional as well as to a inter-city train station. From the train stations there ia an hourly service to Koblenz. You will usually have to change trains in Mainz. The journey by train takes about 70 minutes. At the airport you will also find various car hire companies. By car your journey will take about 70 minutes. Cologne-Bonn Airport: (distance: approximately 100 km) The regional and mainline train station is located directly at the airport. The journey to Koblenz takes about 80 minutes. At the airport you will also find various car hire companies. By car your journey will take about an hour. Hahn Airport: (distance approximately 65 km) Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (about an hour's drive from Frankfurt and Koblenz) is mainly served by the airline Ryanair. At the airport you will find various car hire companies and there is also a regular shuttle bus to Koblenz.

inner city travel by bus

From Koblenz main station "Bahnhof Stadtmitte" you can take the following direct connections

line 3 or line 13 from bus platform E at the bus station, direction Güls
line 4 or line 14 from platform D at the bus station, direction Amazon
line 5 from platform D at the bus station, direction Universität
line 343 from platform K at the bus station, direction Kobern-Gondorf

Get off at the bus stop "Universität" or "Universität/Winninger Straße". You can take three lines from the university back to the city. Either line 3/13, 4/14 or line 5. All go to the city center "Löhr-Center" and stop at the end at the main station. The bus stop at the university is located in the university parking lot. To check the departure times, you can either look at the bus schedules at the bus stops or use the VRM app (android / apple)... Unfortunately Google Maps is not showing these connetions.

Alternatively, you can also use DB website or the DB app to find out about departure times and buy tickets.

Recommendation (given by an university student): Use the VRM App and type in "Koblenz Hauptbahnhof" (without quotation marks) as origin and look for each destination: "Uni/Winninger Straße" (without quotation marks) and "Universität" (without quotation marks) to find a direct connection that is most convenient for you. If you search for "Universität", make sure you select the one that has "Koblenz-Metternich" next to/under it (usually in grey, smaller letters).
